Baptism form
Details on this form will be emailed to the church administrator – please fill in as much as you are able to.
Time + Place
To have a child baptised you must:
- live in the Parish
- or be a regular attendee at the Parish Church
- or gain permission of your own Parish Priest first.
Baptisms may take place in the main Sunday Morning Service at 10am or at a separate 12.30pm Sunday service.
Please feel free to talk about dates and times with the Minister.
Godparents
As a parent or godparent you should ask yourself:
- Are you prepared to the best of your ability to give the child a Christian upbringing within the family of Christ’s Church?
- Will you help the child to attend public worship regularly as well as pray with them? This requires not only your teaching, but also your example and prayers.
- Will you encourage the child in due time to come to communion and Confirmation?
You may have two or more Godparents, but usually there are three. Parents and grandparents may be Godparents, provided that the child has at least one other Godparent.
Godparents must themselves be Baptised (or Christened) and ideally they should also be Confirmed (or a practicing member of another church). If this is a problem, please talk to the Minister about it. We will write to/email godparents to help them understand their responsibilities before the Baptism.
