Advent and Christmas

This Advent and Christmas, things may be a bit different but neither Christmas nor Advent are cancelled. We still wait in hope for the coming of Christ; light in the darkness and we’re finding alternative ways to prepare and celebrate.

Advent window trail

Members of our congregation and friends of St Paul and St Stephen’s have been lighting up their windows during Advent with creative displays. We’ll put up photos as we receive them, but as a sneak peak, the roads you might want to keep an eye on are:

King Edward’s Avenue, Robinson Road, Osric Road, Seymour Road, Linden Road, Matson Place, Furlong Road, Wilton Close, Wilton Road, Frampton Road, The Oval and Bloomfield Road

Angel trail

Look out for the angels as they head for Bethlehem – how many can you find around the parish?
You may also wish to download and print an angel picture, or just make your own and bring them to the stable in the churchyard.

Lego nativity

Virtual nativity

We can’t gather together for the crib service this year but the story of the first Christmas is more important than ever!  Watch our virtual nativity – God is Everywhere – on our YouTube channel.  You might even be able to spot some people you know in the film.
